Motorcycle Maintenance Course
What’s it about?
So, you
can ride a motorcycle, but can you maintain one? Spend an evening
learning how.
By taking the Vancouver Island Safety Council Motorcycle
Maintenance course you will get to know the basics for maintaining your
motorcycle. You’ll also save money on garage repairs and you might
prevent that “stranded” feeling on the side of the road.
No previous experience necessary, in fact you don’t even need to own a motorcycle.
What do I learn?
Motorcycle Engine Configuration (how does that thing work?)
Lubrication and Cooling Systems (check and change the fluids)
Fuel Systems (what happens to gas when my bike sits for a while)
Clutches, Transmissions and Drives (adjust/lubricate that chain, belt or
shaft)
Electric Fundamentals (change a bulb or add some LED’s)
Charging and Ignition Systems (don’t touch that!)
Frames, Steering and Suspension Systems (keep the bike handling
properly)
Brakes, Wheel Assemblies and Tires (keep the rubber side down)
What does it cost?
3 hour class - $40
How big are the classes?
The maximum class size is 8 people. All the better to make sure you get those important questions answered!
Where and when is the class held?
The Vancouver Island Safety Council operates a small repair and maintenance shop at Western Speedway. Contact the Vancouver Island Safety Council for the course location.
