Long Weekend Novice Courses (LWE):

Please Note: Our Long Weekend Novice courses are a condensed time frame (3 days instead of 4), and therefore offer little or no opportunity for any Extra Training for students that may struggle or require more training. Therefore we ask that students who register for Long Weekend courses be very confident in their personal abilities.

 

Novice Skills Course Breakdown: - 4 Days

The Novice Skills Course runs two courses at a time; one course starts with the practical riding session, while the other starts theory sessions in the VISC classroom. At 12:00pm, the two courses switch. To better understand our course selections and options, please refer to the following course breakdown.

Day 1 & Day 3= Full Day. 8:00am to 5:00pm - Theory & Practical Riding sessions
Day 2 & Day 4= 1/2 Day. (AM Course) 8:00 to 12:00 (PM Course) 1:00 to 5:00 - Practical Riding session only

Weekend (WE) Practical riding sessions are held at Camosun College Interurban 'P3' parking lot.
Weekday (WD) Practical riding sessions are held inside the track at Western Speedway in Langford. Weekday course days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Theory Classes: Weekend (WE) and Weekday (WD) Theory, Intro Nights and Traffic Theory classes are
all held at the VISC Classroom.

AM Courses: If your course number ends in "AM", this means your Practical Riding sessions will be held first, starting at 8:00AM. After lunch you will then head to the VISC Classroom for your Theory sessions (Days 1 & 3 only). Days 2 & 4 are half days that are Practical Riding sessions only, starting at 8:00am (no theory/classroom session).

PM Courses: If your course number ends in "PM", this means your Theory sessions will be held first at the VISC Classroom, starting at 8:00AM. After lunch you will head out to your Practical Riding sessions (Days 1 & 3 only). Days 2 & 4 are half days that are Practical Riding sessions only, starting at 1:00pm (no theory/classroom session).

 

Traffic Skills Course Breakdown - 2 Days

Day 1= Full Day 8:00am to 4:30pm Starting at the VISC Classroom for a 45 minute theory session.
Students then proceed to the VISC Garage at the entrance to Western Speedway parking lot.

Day 2 = Full Day 8:00am to 4:30pm - 8:00am at Western Speedway.

Weekday (WD) Traffic course days are held Mondays and Tuesdays.

 

Experienced Rider Course Breakdown: 2 Days

Theory = Friday evening 3 hour session at the VISC Classroom.

Day 1= Saturday 7:30am to 2:30pm on the track at Western Speedway.

Day 2 = Sunday 8:00am to 4:00pm starting at Camosun College Interurban 'P3' parking lot, followed by discretionary traffic riding.
